Futurama and The Simpsons set to cross paths

Despite being cancelled on Comedy Central characters from Futurama are set to appear on an episode of The Simpsons either at the end of season 25 or the beginning of season 26 in 2014. This marks the second crossover for The Simpsons, with The Griffins from Family Guy set to stop by Springfield that same year.

The plot will mainly focus on Bender going back in time to kill Bart because there's something he does in the present that makes the future really, really, really bad. Could this be a tree house of horror episode? The script will be penned by The Simpsons co executive producer J. Stewart Burns who's also written for Futurama.

Matt Groening created both shows and John DiMaggio has actually portrayed Bender in a brief cameo on The Simpsons in a season 16 episode. Futurama cast members scheduled to appear are Billy West, Katey Sagal, John DiMaggio, Phil LaMarr and Maurice LaMarche.
