Futurama and The Simpsons set to cross paths
Despite being cancelled on Comedy Central characters from Futurama are set to appear on an episode of The Simpsons either at the end of season 25 or the beginning of season 26 in 2014. This marks the second crossover for The Simpsons, with The Griffins from Family Guy set to stop by Springfield that same year.
The Griffins are heading to Springfield
The Simpsons will appear in an hour long episode of Family Guy in the fall of 2014 when Peter & the rest of the Griffin family head out on a road trip and wind up in Springfield. Aptly titled "The Simpsons Guy" the two families will cross paths and quickly become close friends; with each character pairing off with they're counterpart.
Family Guy news - A Griffin will die and be replaced
On the Family Guy panel at this year's Comic Con showrunner Steve Callaghan confirmed that a Griffin family member would perish and be replaced by a new character in the upcoming series. He denies that it's Peter's mother Thelma, who dies in an upcoming episode (possibly due to the real life death of Phyllis Diller in 2012, who voiced the role after taking over for Florence Stanley when she passed away in 2003) but verified that it would be one of the six main characters, though he would not say who exactly.
Simpsons news - killing off a major character
With seventeen characters dying over the years (Mrs Glick, Beatrice Simmons, Gladys Gurney, Captain Tennille, Frank Orman, Bleeding Gums Murphy, Dr Marvin Monroe, Shary Bobbins, Red Barclay, Amber & Mona Simpson, Frank Grimes, Fat Tony, Snowball II, Pinchy and Poochie; hell one's in the above picture, hi-ya Maude!) executive producer Al Jean informed reporters at a recent conference call that the writers are currently developing a script in which a major character will pass away.

Plot details to Independence Day sequels revealed
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly director Roland Emmerich and producer Dean Devlin were confident enough to reveal a fairly large amount of information regarding the two Independence Day sequels currently in the works, despite the fact that they're still awaiting a green light from 20th Century Fox.
Currently titled ID Forever Part I & II respectively Emmerich answered one of the biggest uncertainties regarding the plot; whether the story would continue immediately after the events of Independence Day, or 20 years later:
“The humans knew that one day the aliens would come back. And they know that the only way you can really travel in space is through wormholes. So for the aliens, it could take two or three weeks, but for us that’s 20 or 25 years.”
